RIO SECRETO

In the Riviera Maya we have the opportunity to enjoy incredible places, places with a magic that falls in love, that transport, that enrich us, that remind us how lucky we are to be in contact with unique passages and moments; one of them is Río Secreto, located a few minutes south of Playa del Carmen.

We were invited to enjoy the beauty and majesty of such a magical place, very early we went to the meeting point to take the transportation that was assigned to us, there was Tony, our operator, very attentive to our arrival and welcoming us with kindness and joy In compliance with sanitary measures, he took our temperature and after applying antibacterial gel to our hands, he opened the door of the vehicle and we took our assigned places based on healthy distance protocols, to head towards our destination.

Upon arriving at the Río Secreto facilities we made a small stop at the reception to check in and received our bracelets, having everything ready, we began our journey, at that moment we had no idea what to expect, which was more exciting Still, once all the documentation was in order, we headed into the jungle, along a dirt road.

A few minutes later we arrived at a palapa where Raúl was waiting for us, who would be our guide through the cave and the underground rivers, after a detailed explanation regarding the preparation to enter, we went to the locker room and bathrooms to change clothes and put on the wetsuits and walking shoes inside, life jacket and protective helmet with viscera and lamp, these are provided by the park, it should be noted that while we were rinsing we could see the ozone chamber where they disinfect and clean the suits after use, safety and health come first for the hosts.

It is an incredible experience.



Something that caught our attention is the ability of Luciano, the cameraman, to move around the cave, at certain points we would stop for photos and a few moments later he was already ahead of us waiting for us in another location, we were excited about the theme of teleportation or that he was a ghostly being, however he explained to us that he knows perfectly the cave that uses some shortcuts to go from one place to another and surprise us with his camera.
